Default Premier snare drums - Beatmaker & XPK Exclusive

I was looking on Premier's site for snare drums. They offer two series but I can't find them anywhere. Are they still being sold? Does anyone own one? I'm particularly interested in the 13x5.5 brass and 13x7 birch pictured below.

Premier is kinda kaput from what I can tell. Still lots of their drums for sale on Reverb and eBay though, and often on line retailers have New Old Stock Premier.

No, unless you can find blowout stock. I think the marching side is still staggering along waiting for someone to put it out of its misery, but they haven't made anything kit related now since about 1
'14/'15.

There are news announcements about new distribution deals in huge international markets, such as Guatemala and Equatorial Guinea (I jest, I think the recent ones were Bulgaria and Israel..... make of that what you will), but no US or UK distribution. Premier occasionally say that you can buy kits but I strongly think it's NOS from a warehouse somewhere, and their new endorser announcements are always of slightly challenging colour/size combination kits, which reinforces my NOS view.

I've challenged Premier directly re this on their Facebook page and never had a response. If they were genuinely manufacturing they would have said something.

The brass drums were OK ish, Taiwanese manufactured with a Prem badge on.

Nothing going brand new in the UK. Just new old stock.

They still have endorsees. Not sure how that works. The HQ is in an office building in Leicester. Definitely no drums being made there.

I'm not sure who would take them on. I suppose from a marketing aspect there's something there. Somebody may take the marching side separately.

It's fairly unclear what Premier is - unfortunately - becoming.
http://drumset.premier-percussion.co...er-distributor

But there isn't any distributor in europe it seems (europe should be their first market). Still their website has some updates, and they still have endorsee.
This is sad because Natal (britain too) don't seem very healthy, and British Drum Company don't seem to go anywhere either.

Premier has become a total mess. There's guys on here with more insider knowledge than I would ever have.

From what I have seen, their last big venture was to make the really high end line the one series. They did the modern classic line as well. They didn't push the budget drums which is a lot of big drum companies bread and butter.

They had a massive advantage with percussion equipment and should really have focused more on education but didn't.

In the UK for the price of any top end drum kit there's a plethora of custom builders that will build you something better for the same price. One posts a lot of drum porn here.

If it's one of the older seamless brass Yamahas then no comparison at all. The Prem drum is OK but nothing special.

BDC is a different proposition though, it's a high end bespoke kind of company (you'll be aware it's Keith et al who made the last British made Premier stuff). They're not competing in anything like the same market that Premier should have been. Premier have no well known endorsees at all now.

Yes the last big shot left more than one year ago : Nicko Mc Brain.

Chris Sharrock (Noel Gallagher, Robbie Williams) and Doane Perry (Jethro Tull) are still there.

I mean compared to this one:

Is it seamless?

Sold a maple custom snare after I got this one because it's better imo.
