getting new heads help me pick a new reso or maybe convince me to switch to 1 ply batter

Conderdiering a few new options when I change all my heads this time. I play a Fortune 8 ply maple kit. 13' rack 16' floor 24 inch bass. 13' Yamaha Akira Jimbo sig beach wood. Basicly I've been a hard hitter and trying to change that. I Like my coated G2s but considering 1 ply options. And also has any one ever tried clear G2s as resonant heads? Or coated G1s? What should I expect out a one ply snare head? Some thing worth mentioning is that when I replace the heads im also putting the pearl iso mounts on both toms. Any input would really help. I want my next record to sound great.

I'm something of a big hitter when I get going but my 1 ply Evans G1s are fine. Not a dent in sight (except on a friend put in my 12" head - grrr!). If you play them right then they'll last.
