He isn't on the drummers thread and I know he deserves to be.
Andy Parker.
He was/is the drummer for the U.K. rock group UFO for the better part of it's 40 + year career. I belive he is amoung the many underrated/unsung rock drummers of his time. He got his gig drumming with freinds Phil Mogg and Pete Way in 1969 and has been doing it ever since. He is a quite guy, I've never heard him do solos or anything outside of serving the song he just holds the fort down and locks in with bassist Pete Way. He is not a technition of sorts but he comes up with some creative fills and his grooves always are catchy like in Rock Bottom, Give Her The Gun, Shoot Shoot . You can hear some of his best playing on the 'Strangers in The Night" live album as well as the studio albums he did (check out all of UFO's stuff). His gear was Ludwig in the 70's then sometime in the 80s he switched to Premeir drums. He loved big kits LOL
Here he is in the early days playing a sweet Ludwig set up http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-KRDE-CzRhU
A nice example of his style later on with a bigger kit, enjoy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PHF7qMhBf4Y&playnext=1&list=PL3719EBC9076AD37E
Here he is again playing a kick butt white double bass Ludwig set. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PICJ3aRN4-o
