im not really sure how "remote" you want them, but for me (mainly because of my double bass pedal which im trying to learn how to play) i pushed the stand further back to where your leg and arm has to stretch out a bit further (leg more than the arm). its actually fairly comfortable even after a longer time. why do you want to move yours? is it because of where the hihats are in the normal spot, or because of where your foot is?
