New Inde Snare Drums

I'm so down with the one that has a blue strata look. I like 'em a LOT.

Those are the nicest finishes I've ever seen on drums!

If I owned drums that looked like that, I would be getting out of bed just to look at them!

Nice looking gear ,but I don't get the 8 lug approach on the snares.

I'm assuming you mean that they should use 10 lugs, rather than 8...

Fewer lugs equals more tension at each lug, which helps to keep rods from backing out under heavy playing. Also, having fewer lugs means there's less of a chance that your stick will come down at a lug point while doing rimshots, which can cause detuning of the drum. Fewer lugs also means fewer holes in your drum. I feel like having more lugs is only really necessary if you're using weak hoops, or if you're cranking the heads super high.

In general, the fewer the lugs, the more open the drum sound. 8 is a nice compromise between the very open sound of a 6-lugger, and the drier sound of a 10-lugger.

I knew those finishes reminded me of something:

That or some of the 1980's bowling balls.
