So sad. I can't imagine Barry's heartbbreak of now having lost all three brothers, and all prematurely.

Between losing Donna Summer and now RG, it's been a bad week.

RIP Robin Gibb.

surprisingly only a few replies to Robin Gibb, a great singer???, whom i think was under-appreciated. but if some semi--almost--known metal drummer croaked the thread would be loaded with replies, i'm sure.

Yeah, it feels like the end of an era. I've never been a fan but they had talent and they were unique. Some may be thankful for it, but you rarely hear such strong group falsetto.

The music on Barry's touching tribute video was very stylish, lovely vocals too: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xf7HbY_lafk

It's making me wonder if there more excellent tunes like this on the albums without the annoying chipmunks thing (sorry). Love the parts where the vocals get really sensitive and then the drums come booming in. Class. It gives me the tingles.

Yes, loving the drums on that song.

An end of an era indeed Grea. I'm in the same boat. The Gibbs were part of my youth influence. Never moved me at the time, but I came to appreciate their talent later on, especially their songwriting skills. I think more impressive, was the Gibbs brothers decorum in an era of heady pop sensationalism & disposable fads. They conducted themselves with an enduring understated grace that said much about the people behind the public facade

RIP Robin.

I loved certain songs of the Bee Gees, they've been around for so long, a truly unique band, so recognizable.

It certainely mark an end to an era, but the spirit lives on, like all the greats before, their legacy will remain.

Yes, Barry's tribute song is fantastic, especially associated with the video footage, very emotional, wonderful drum patterns too.

RIP Robin

Ugh.... 2012 was a bad year. Davy Jones... Whitney Houstin... and now Robin Gibb. Why do the good one have to go?

My girlfriend did one of the last interviews with Robin. (Though she didn't like the headline they chose for the piece). He had some interesting thing to say about of the industry -- understandable considering where he's coming from.

And for better or worse, the Bee gees were the first group to use drum loops -- get a perfect 4 measures and just loop it . Add fills later. It all about control and perfection.
