Just bought a lm 402 and a 18" paiste and thats all I own.....Haven't played since 1969....I was 16....Any thoughts on how I can get the bong out, and more snap in.It came with ludwig heads.
if you mean cutting out the ringing, I can see how it'd be annoying when you play the drum by itself. Same for if/when you get a kit- resonant drums will sound like there's too much, bordering on obnoxious. However, when you get with other musicians, you'll only hear half to a third of it- the rest of your drums' acoustic sound will be swallowed up by the other instruments. And that's only to your ears- the audience will hear much less than that. So, be careful to not get in a habit of over-muffling. If you make the drums sound "normal", i.e. like you hear on recordings, by themselves, then they'll be lacking tone & punch in a band situation.
