For Your Consideration: TV Commercials with Bad Actors

I was watching TV tonight with my kids and this stupid car title loan ad came on. My daughter began laughing at the commercial hysterically (she's 12 - what do I know?). I asked her why she was laughing so much and she told me that it's so pitiful what actors will do.

I had to agree with her on this one because you can just see that this poor actress probably has delusions of grandeur and believes that this gig will be her springboard to stardom.

"Your monay, your monay, your real money!"

I see a possible career in pornography followed by welfare, divorce and acute drug related problems.

Although I reckon it's even worse when they try and scrimp on the advertising budget altogether and do it themselves. This one always has my work colleges in stitches........an obvious case of the company owner saying "actors?.....nah, I'm not paying actors.....we'll just get the missus to do it and save money"

Thank you for disabusing me of the notion that UK TV operates on a level somewhat higher than that in the USA.

She was lip-syncing to a jingle. It most probably wasn't her rapping. The ad was forgettable. But for her it was a gig. She did what she was directed to do, and got the job done. Delusions of grandeur?
