Nice Rock groove from Fuel recorded on my Saturn V with matching Snare.

Your drumming sounds really good on that track. You seem to capture the emotion of the song. Good job.

Another great song to add to my playlist. Sweet, John.

Particularly enjoyed the hat-work.

Loving the open 4s hat vibe in the chorus = nice control.

Thanks guy's, considering the dismal number of views it got I assumed it must have sucked pretty bad. Despite the fact that the recording has pretty darn good audio quality to my ears. Drums are in tune and sound good, I'm kinda at loss with this interest in home recording equipment. Many people ask about it, but very few ever post any recording's and when they do it drops off radar instantly. I put much effort into getting a good Drum sound along with a good mix and it seems sorta fruitless. I love to listen to other Drummers gear and playing.

Good stuff John. I like the HH work. There's some smooth as butter snare work in there too. Everything sounds nice and even. I only have the one mic and when I do record, it sounds brassy, even if it doesn't involve brass!

Nice, thanks for sharing! Your rack tom setup is interesting. Mine are mounted on my bass drum, so they're shifted right relative to yours, but they seem more accessible with your setup.

Love me some Fuel. The mix, to me, was spot on. This is the first time hearing this song and not knowing the drum parts. You played like you owned it. Solid, in time and having fun. The snare work was a highlight for me. As with Andy, the quarters on the hi-hats made the chorus standout. Well done, indeed.

Thanks a lot for checking it out guys, making these covers is a good start to doing basic recording. I have learned quite a bit and my playing has improved since I started doing these. I thought it was a killer song too, it just wasn't one of their bigger hits.

What kind of video camera/interface/mics, placement, etc are you using to do your vids? I can see one mic on the snare, assume there's one the BD too (?)... any OHs or is that it?

Thanks!

I use a Presonus Audiobox 44 VSL with the Studio-one DAW that comes with the Audiobox. Yea, its a 4 mic set/up I get great results with 4 mics. 1 overhead on each side of kit equal distance from the Snare. Some guys on here talk about recording Drums like its a science but my set/up is very basic and the audio sounds very well.

My bad, forgot that. I use a Zoom Q4 for the video and I just hit Start on both devices simultaneously (Zoom and Studio-one) so I dont have to worry about syncing afterwards.

Cool playing. Like your cymbal choices.
