Drum gear marking for police identification?

Hey all, It recently dawned on me that I have spent a decent amount of money on my drum stuff, (especially recently) and was thinking of doing something with my drum gear for police identification. I'm gonna go to my local police station and see if they have any tips or information, but for starters, I am doing a FULL photographic library of all my drum gear. Cymbals, drums, hardware, electronics etc.

What do you guys do for marking (if any??) your gear? What do you do for cymbals, snares, hardware, electronics etc?

Get a closeup of the badges and stamps of all drums/cymbals. If your hardware has similar or S/Ns great. In the event that it's stolen it's common to unload it all at the same time and in the same place. Reputable pawn shops are not supposed to take material with filed S/Ns. Check the classifieds/craigslist/ebay for your gear. I have the information written down in a notebook of all my gear and their identification numbers.

I am personally not going to add any markings on purpose.
