then my mic stands and stuff what would you guys reccomend and would you reccondmend theses ?:)

500 quid= around $1250 USD.

You'll like that TASCAM US-1800. I have the 1641 and it's great. You're going to need a high powered computer though because it's a USB interface. You need dual core running at 2.8GHz per core (or a quad core at 2.2 per core). 4GB RAM minimum and a 7200rpm HDD.

TASCAM ships with Cubase 5, I haven't used it, I use Sonar Producer 8.3, but I hear Cubase is fine and not much different (hell, I've used ProTools user manuals and they apply to Sonar, I think the only difference these days between DAWs is the name and some GUI differences, underneath is all the same). If you don't like Cubase, plan for $400 for a good DAW.

Those first mics look fine for a start. You're going to need stands and cables. For the kick, I recommend the Kelly Shu. A couple boom mic stands will finishe this off. I think for your budget, you could go better on the mics, if you already have a good computer and DAW (or will use Cubase that comes with the TASCAM).

Check out what you want for video, I don't know much about video and sync etc. Some folks on here are pretty smart on it. I am not. I'm not much into the YouTube 'drum cover' thing, but some are. I'm more into recording for other folks and getting them a good sound for a budget.

Hey all ive decided up put my budget up to £650
Im currently looking at the samson 8kit drum mics

anyone got a review on them ? :)

If you don't like the version of Cubase that comes with the Tascam interface, you should check out Reaper--you can use a free trial from their website and download the whole lot for $60.
