anyone with experience with Gibraltar JZ hardware?

Hello All,

I'm looking to replace my double-braced, extremely heavy hardware with lighter weight, good quality single braced stuff. It seems like the Yamaha 700-series is the most recommended, but I've found a new, cheaper alternative from Gibraltar, the JZ series:

The stuff looks to be pretty good quality, and a little more stable than the Gibraltar flat-base series (which I was initially set on). Plus, it has the ability to set up like flat-base hardware.

Does anyone have personal experience with these JZ stands - stability, weight, quality - especially in comparison to the Gibraltar flat-base (8600) series?

Thanks,
S

I have a couple of the cymbal stands and like the weight, adjustability, and stability. However, see my post further down this forum about troubles with collars getting loose. If I could solve that issue I'd give them a totally unquallified two thumbs up but with that issue I have to say I'm disapointed.
