Beginner drummer- sound question

Hi!
Beginner drummer here. (Please be kind.)
I am using my iPhone with earbuds with noise cancelling headphones over the top while playing.
My issue is this, sometimes my kids want to hear the song I am listening to/ playing along with.
How can I project the music into the room while also having it sent to my earbuds?
Is that even possible?

You can use a Y-splitter cable to send it to your earbuds and to an external sound source at the same time, but you'll need some serious volume to hear it over a drum kit.

Do your kids wear any hearing protection when they're in the room with you? Drums can easily do some serious damage to their hearing if they aren't.

My kids wear noise cancelling headphones while I am playing. Thanks for the reminder though. My little one rips off her headphones every chance she gets.
