Default Do college drumlines require the use of traditional grip?

I'm desperately trying to learn it, but it's the hardest thing ever. It's like starting over again but with a new grip. I have a year until I get into college, and I really want to make the drumline. Do any of you know if traditional grip is ABSOLUTELY required?

They do some sick stuff in those drumlines. I would imagine so. I played bass drum in HS. No trad for me.

I have never heard of a drum line that did not require traditional grip for their snare drummers

I dont know about college drumlines but I do know that if you end up playing a parade with the standard strap for your snare drum you'll have a very difficult time playing with matched grip. See the standard strap puts the drum head at an angle making traditional grip the only way to comfortably and consistently play the instrument. I started on matched grip too but as soon as I started doing parades i went to traditional and now it's what I use a good 90% of the time on drumset as well. It feels more natural to me now but I remember struggling to do a 5 stroke roll when I first started trying to do it. Keep at it though, it'll come with practice just like everything else.

It depends on the school, but 99% of the ones I know of play traditional. Matched grip doesn't look as cool.
