Default Retired the Emad for an SKII

Put the SKII on the kick today. I got the kit with a ported Regulator and I always hear people say that the regulator and sk is a great combo. The previous owner had the SKII on there, but tore through one of the plys so I tossed it and threw the Emad on.

I have been playing on the single ply Emad for a while now. Had one on my old CB kit and my M Birch. The 2-ply feels a bit different. I feel like I have a bit less rebound. Took the Evans EQ pillow out for now so the kick has nothing in it.

Its a little tough to compare them right now because I had the Evans af (kevlar) patches on the Emad, and have nothing on the SKII so far. But there is a bit more low end.

For those that are running this combo - Any opinions on how to tune them? Are you using any additional muffling?

I am using an sk1 and regulator plus an aquarian double kick patch and nothing else in the drum for muffling. Tuning is more than JAW, just about to the point that it will start to resonate.

I always tell people to try the AQUARIAN IMPACT, its the SK with a wider ring.

Yea I'm thinking I should have gone with the single ply. I dont like the way the two feels.
