Default What is the best bottom head for my snare?

I have a 14x6 birch Tama Superstar snare and i wonder what is the best bottom head for it. I have remo coated ambassador on top(batter) so wich bottom head would sound good with the remo ambassador? Thanks.

A 3mil snare side reso is a good starting point. Remo Snare Side Ambassador or Evans Hazy 300 are the two I'm familiar with. I'm sure Aquarian also have a snare side head but I wouldn't have a clue what it is called.

You can go thinner (2mil) like a snare side Diplomat or thicker (5mil). But the 3mil is certainly very common. Tried and tested on thousands of snares for many many years.

I'll take the Hazy 300 for a Thousand Pockets.

Been using these forever.

The Hazy Ambassador snare side is 3mil also if you wish to stay with Remo.

I had a stock factory Remo head on the bottom of my snare, but I figured a Hazy 300 would make the snare sound better considering all of the rave reviews I saw on Musicians Friend.

I got the head put on and really ... there's no difference whatsoever... doesn't sound bad, but I might as well have saved myself the $12.

Aquarians version is a classic clear snare side, i love them and use a coated studiox on the batter.
