Default DW 6710 and 8" tom?

Hi.

Is a DW 6710 sturdy enough to hold an 8" tom?

I received the tom as a bonus with my Gretsch Catalina Maple kit. The tom is pretty heavy, and I wouldn't mind throwing a cymbal on that stand, too (but maybe only an effect cymbal).

Thoughts?

Is the DW 6710 a straight stand or a boom? Much of the time flat based stands just don't have the stability of a three legged tripod stand to mount a hanging tom from it. What 8'' tom do you have that's so heavy? I have three and they're all different weights.

My straight 6000 stand couldn't hold a 12" with die-cast hoops. But I think it may be able to hold a 8"...
