Default Gavin Harrison New Signature Stick

I watched a video, and read some articles about the new signature stick Gavin Harrison is coming out with through Vic Firth. Right now I'm using Mike Portnoy pro-mark sticks because I like the control with them. Anyway any thoughts about the new Gavin Harrison drum sticks?

Last I heard he uses 5A Wood Tip Vic Grip for normal playing and Rock Vic Grip for the big rock shows with Porcupine Tree. So I'm guessing it will either be a compromise between those two, or a stick that resembles on one of them, but with some modifications to suit Gavin's needs.

The Portnoy sticks are pretty thin (deifnitely far too thin and light for me), so I would assume that whatever Gavin's signature stick ends up looking like it will be thicker than the Portnoy sticks.

Here's the video link where you can pretty clearly see that he went more the Rock sized route.

I'm interested. I like grip sticks because without it, I do tend to overgrip. I also like what he says about designing the stick not to shatter on the ride bell - which is where I break most of my sticks too.

I'm interested in buying a few pairs to try out the new Gavin sticks as well. I wonder how well balanced they will be for rock drumming.
