Default DM5 vs DM-Pro, better triggering

Hello to all:

I recently bought a cheap Sonor drumkit that I have outfitted with mesh heads. It was my intent to use this kit for silent-practice only...but then I realized I could get triggers/brain, and voila, electronic drumzz!! However, the triggering is not as smooth as I would like. Does anyone out there have any wide-range of experience with doing this kind of thing? I'm using ddrum triggers (the kind that clamp in the rim) The bass drum trigger is awesome, works perfectly. The snare/tom triggers are about 90% accurate, but hey, if I can somehow get that last 10%...

Also, does the Alesis DM-Pro have "more adjustable" parameters than the DM5?
