WTF!!!! Outrageous look and construction. It is not often I see something truly different around here and this is it.

What the heck does "spalted" mean? Is it an obscure manufacturing term like "sintered" or "piebald"?

lol. No. Spalting happening to wood grown under very specific conditions. It creates that ripply flowing grain.

Actually that is birdseye maple, spalted maple is the result of a mold forming in or on the wood and causes grain variations.

Man those veneers are off the chain! I'm sold on that Macassar Ebony and Spalted Maple snare, the brass hardware just tops it off!

Yes, they are stunning to say the least. The lugs are custom made from a solid piece of brass as well as the center rod. They look as ood as they sound. I can also custom make them to your specs and have a nice excotic wood selection.

This one is 11ply 5.5x14" Bearing Edge 10 Lug Custom Snare drum. The shells exterior is Bubinga with Macassar Ebony on the inside of the shell. The hoops are Figured Olive Ash Burl. All brass hardware w/ Trick throw off and 24 strand Puresound wires. Drum is a true work of art to say the least!

They are beautiful woods, but if you are going to this extreme to make a pretty drum, go the extra mile and get the trick plated to match, as it sits, it looks like a simple bolt on.

is he back in business, saw some popped up on the bay, guys were speculating.

Interesting looking drums. Are these ply or solid shells?
