Default Aquarian studio X coated with power dot

Hi everyone,

I bought a new kit with aquarian coated studio X batter heads on toms (and classic clear on resonant). Although I love the sound, in 4 month time my 10" tom batter head dent and now I have to change the batter head

This is my question : do you think I could have the same sound with the same head but with powerdot for extra durability or do you think powerdot would affect the sound even if it is still a coated studio X ?

Thanks for your help

what kind of sticks are you using? Rounded tip? If yes this may be why.

I've just switched to Aquarian Super 2's and have a set of Performance series as well. I haven't been playing them long but so far no issues. I did have issues with Evans EC2 SST's but I found it was the sticks I was using, Vater Fusions with rounded tips, they weren't big dents that effected sound.

I've never dented heads before, so it could also be a number of things, but since switching sticks....no problems.

What kind of kit do you have?
