Default TD-20K or DTX750K - Which to buy, and why?

Hi All,

New to the forum, not too 'up' with this internet lark.
Anyways, I am in the market for a practice kit - done some shopping round, reviews etc.
I have narrowed my search down to either a brand new DTX 750, or a second hand TD-20, which are in a similar price range.
I like the feel of the TCS pads, and the idea of the 3 zone pads and cymbals.
But I also like the size of the TD-20 pads, it's output capabilities and think it has better dynamics.
I am torn, and I hope a few suggestions from anyone here may help me decide.
Many thanks in advance for any time on this matter.

Ed

Id go for the roland for the better feel. also, buy the kit that has the most parts to it. like if your ever going to start metal drumming dont get an Ekit with only 2 toms if you know what i mean

Roland's mesh-pads feel awesome and realistic, and they have some of the best sounds in their modules. I vote Roland.

Since you're not oppsed to buying used..why not consider a yamaha DTX950..IMO it's the best e-kit out there (although I haven't played a 2 box, which might make me change my mind)..I play both top kits (DTX950 & td-20sx) regularly...the DTX950 is a better kit!...I'm sure the DTX750 is a great kit as well...just haven't tried one out yet..

Thanks for the replies.
I've decided to change tactics completely and am going to get a 2nd hand td-12.
It's half the price of a td-20 and that will leave me a bundle of cash to renew some parts of my a-kit :)

The dtx 950 is an awesome kit, but finding one 2nd hand is akin to finding rocking horse poo, in the UK.
The dtx 750 is so new, no 2nd hand ones about also.

Well you do sound a little pathetic at times about Yamaha, like I do about my Saturns, :) At least I only have the model tattooed on my but. You have the whole company on yours. :)

Regarding the two kits I mentioned... I play both of them regularly, so I feel like I can make a pretty good call on each kit....I just like the yamaha DTX more..trust me if I didn't I wouldn't say I did (I spent many months contemplating which module [td-20 or DTX900] I was going to buy for my e-kit before I purchased the DTX900 module...that being said I would like try out a 2box...4gb's of sample space sounds very promising to me..hopefully both yamaha and roland on their next gen e-kits will offer something comparable to this...also just as an fyi..before I got the DTX900 module I was using a td-10 exp. w/vex on my kit..
