Default My old-school Tama kit...

Hey there everyone, been lurking for a while and finally decided to join in the fun... here's my humble kit and collection, almost all of which has come from the electronicBay.

From what I've gathered, it's an early to mid-eighties Tama Swingstar which is in good nick; the previous owner cut out holes in the bottom skins (!) which I haven't had the time, money or reason to replace as of yet, but I'm running EC2s on the batters.

Vital information:
14" x 6.5" Tama Metalworks snare
12", 13" and 16" toms - all of which look to be square
22" kick
Tambourine (not currently mounted)
Cowbell (not currently mounted)
LP jam block

Cymbals are a mixture:
8" self-cut brass splash on top of a 9" Sabian SR2 splash
10" UFiP Rough splash
14" HHX Evolution hats
14" Zildjian Paper Thin crash
16" UFiP Class crash
18" UFiP Extatic crash
21" Istanbul Mehmet Traditional ride, custom made and designed to my specs

Also, I have a 20" Meinl Sand Ride which I somehow won in a raffle at a Benny Greb clinic, and miscellaneous other things.

Oh, and to prove I'm not a cymbal junkie (yeah, right) here's a pic of the setup I gigged with last night:

Anyway, thanks for stopping by... I look forward to contributing to discussions here and learning from the community.

Nearly a year later, with a new band, and the realisation of just how annoying it is having to carry gear around, and I have a new setup...

That's just 12, 16, 22 on the Tama Swingstar (which I thankfully put an EMAD on after a year and a half of that ancient Pinstripe) and the 13 x 7 Black Magic..

Cymbals are:
14" HHX Evolutions
10" UFiP Rough Splash
18" UFiP Extatic Crash
20" Meinl Sand Ride
18" UFiP Experience China

Thanks!

I finally finished off my snare, thought I'd put in a pic here... it's rather pimping, I must say.
