Evans Onyx Snare Head thoughts?

I'm currently running a custom built Powerbeat 14"x5.5" Steel Snare.

I've done several upgrades to it to the point where I actually quite like the tone (Funnily enough, each upgrade has managed to cost almost as much/more than the actual snare itself).
I've thrown on some Die-cast Hoops, Equalizer Snare Wires w/ 5/8" Grosgrain Ribbon straps.
The top head is a Coated Remo Emperor X, and the bottom is a stock clear Powerbeat head (Not sure of thickness/material).

So, now to my question: I'm considering playing around with heads. Regardless of opinion, I'll probably give it a try, but I'm thinking of trying an Evans Onyx on my batter side. I love to have a really dry, crisp sound to my snare and I keep it tensioned up damn tight for a decent crack, and I really do enjoy the Coated Emp X on it, but wondered if anyone has tried Onyx heads on their Snare and their thoughts? Any sound clips?
