Pollyanna and her PR machine.

I secretly think that Unfunkyfooted is actually Max Markson in disguise. He'll use any method to drum up some cheap publicity. ;-)

Huge bummer UFF! How did you cope? A question - what did everyone do about showering?

You might be on to something there, PFOG. It seems to me like karaoke or reality TV, where the plebs get their 15 minutes ...

We had to get up at 6 o'clock in the morning, one hour before we went to bed, and eat a lump of cold poison. We lived in a hole in the ground and we had to pay to work at the mine. When we came home, our dad would kill us and laugh on our graves etc etc.

Had to walk 15 miles to and from school, in a blizzard everyday, uphill both ways, with no shoes and no food.

A box? You were lucky! We had to hold our soggy motivational "post it" note between our eyelashes whilst ---------- enough already, back to Pol's drumming attributes.

My drumming is so appalling I had to register it as a dangerous weapon!

Luxury. My drumming is so appalling, that 4 days before I even think about playing on my kit, I get an eviction notice.

Ha! I used to dream about being evicted 4 days before playing. My drumming is so abysmal that a month before I think about playing a squad of crack marksmen are dispatched by the local council to shoot me and then dance on my grave.

Oh yeah, George tells it like it is ... or he did ... RIP

Thanks Algo ... talking of quality, Ken sent me this link ... if you're into both jazz and King Crimson, it's ideal ... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FX0rORcHOsA

I never realised how just inspired a drummer Ian Wallace was. Pure class.

Polly, I had to share this with you considering our little history about our prog rock drummer heroes.

It's from a series called I'm In A Rock 'N Roll Band and this is part 4 of the part about The Drummer. I'd recommend the entire series as it's pretty interesting as rockumentaries go, but this particular clip features a moment that cracked me up. As they're describing the self-destructive lifestyles that led to early ends for Bonham and Moon, they show a typically somber Bill Bruford who somehow manages to use it as a launching pad to chastise the viewing audience in his own special way.

Gave me a chuckle, giving the history of our back-and-forth. The Bruford moment is at about 6:11. Enjoy!

That program travelled well. Great viewing, & the drummer story was the best of the series. I tuned in when they first aired. Love the drinking session in the South of France story. What I wouldn't give to have been there for that. I mean, c'mon, Olly Reid = madness!

Yeah! Great link but ... damn you 8Mile, I want to have a play and now I'm stuck on this series!

He's just a snoot :)

I first "fell in love" with BB with this track - I thought his playing during the solo was the most wonderful thing I ever heard http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1EWtJiSb_LE#t=140s - so subtle and sneaky and exactly right ... and of course Jamie Muir is a buzz.
