Default Yamaha Tour Custom 8" Tom

"Thinking of buying a Yamaha Tour Custom Kit that offers a "Free 8 inch tom" add-on. I've never had Yamaha's before and I'm wondering if I can mount this "extra" tom with CL940 Yamaha tom hardware. I found a stand on Musician's Friend for about 160 bucks but I don't want to buy it if there's a cheaper way to mount that thing. Or do I need the "900 Series YESS" version for $179? I'm kind of lost here and would appreciate any help! Thanks!

First off, even if it's a shell kit, they might be giving you an extra tom arm for that tom. Check that out first.

Cheapest way to do it is to get another tom arm and a multiclamp, and then just clamp that bad boy to a stand you already have. The tom mount of the 8" tom will determine whether or not you "need" YESS... and if I remember correctly, all Tour Custom toms are YESS mounted.

So you need one of these:

...and one of these:

Should be good to go. Unless you really need a whole other stand, save your pennies. What I just sent you will cost about $50 USD.
