Default Remo Ambassodor X User?

I'm wanting to ditch my Remo Pinstrips. I have used, and liked the Emperor Clears but wanting to try something different. How many of you are using the Ambassador X heads, and if you like or dislike them?

I've been using them on snares now for about a year, and tried one on my rack tom when I got my Ludwigs. I like them a lot on the tom. I prefer the sound of a regular ambassador on the snare, but the X is more durable, so I stick with them. The difference is not severe, and is less noticeable after playing the head for a while.

Can someone please explain to me why the ebony head is almost twice the price of an ''ordinary'' one!?!?

I had Amb X's on my toms and snare for a bit and I'll just say they are very resonant
heads. Tuned low they produce a thunderous sound rich in overtones, tuned higher and they sing like crazy.

I liked them just fine on my rack toms but the for the floor tom I definately prefer a two ply.

on snare, the amb x is a nice head but prepare to hear some serious 'ring'

This makes me want to pull the trigger on my plan of buying two fusion packs and then two for my 8" tom and just put them top and bottom to see how they sound... the free 14" ones that come with the pack will become snare heads, and I'll just have to buy a new snare side head and possibly bass drum heads.
