They're both relatively the same price

well neither one is real cheep, I would go somewhere where you can try both of them out. have you checked out the Speed Cobra? this place has it at a good price

http://www.rainbowguitars.com/drums/...se/HP910LSW/CH

and of course most of the others will beat that price if you show it to them.

Thanks! I haven't yet tried the speed cobra, now I defiantly have to. That's the cheapest I've ever seen it!

This is a good question for me because I love the Mapex Falcon pedals and was going to buy one ($390), but then I found a used Iron Cobra (used but in newish condition) for $220.

The IC won and I dont regret it at all. I love the build and feel of these babies.

I dont know where you are but GC was/is selling brand new (older gen) IC's for $290 to make room for the next generation IC's. I'll bet some stores still have some and the new gen ones are barely any different.

I second the speed cobra. I own it and it is perfect for me, but thats just me. I owned the Iron Cobra for about a week and it was to heavy for me even though I've heard that its pretty balanced as far as heavy vs light feel goes. I played on the mapex falcon and I definatly love all the customizing you can do with the weights in the beaters. Personally I didn't like how skinny the footboard was. It definatly had a lighter feel then the iron cobras but seemed a little too heavy for me. The speed cobras are just a little lighter than the falcons if i remember correctly.

On a side note, whatever happened to the taye metalworks that was supposed to be huge?

I also use the chain and direct drive pedals and never had any problems going from one to the other. If I were you, I would try them out and see what is the best for you.

BTW, with your budget of $100, you might have to go with used. The least expensive belt drive single pedal is about $140 USD.

Where did you get the idea that my budget is $100?

I believe they might ship from store to store or from any store to you.

I would call GC (or several) from random areas and states around you and see if they still have some.

A new IC double for $290 is a no brainer IMO.

ESP, lol. No, I thought that's what you had typed, maybe it was someone else.

I found it. It was very early and I totally lost it. My entire post was in relation to another thread that I read. I apologize.
