Default Bass Drum Triggers

Pretty confused about some things and need some questions answered.

Can you put bass drum triggers through a guitar or bass amp?

Do you need a drum machine or P.A or can you plug it in through any mixer as you would a normal mic?

Thanks, IReverendX.

Triggers aren't microphones, but instead trigger MIDI data according to amplitude and channel assignment.

Drum -> Trigger -> MIDI Module -> PA

So, what about in a live situation, what would it all be plugged into, etc?

The post above is the order of wiring. The trigger takes the impulse, the MIDI module converts it into MIDI data and then plays a sample based on the sound. This goes to the PA from the module. Alternatively, you can take the raw MIDI data from the module and trigger sounds from another MIDI-compatible source, eg. a laptop running the right software.
