Good deal! be proud of your drum-kit at all. I like the wood finish...on your 5-piece Bonham style set, specifications?

You are thinking of Mr. Andy Newmark. A great drummer. Always plays a 4 pc. kit. There is a great article about his yamaha kit in the feb. 1984 issue of Modern drummer magazine. he is very specific on why he plays a 4 pc. also just hats, a ride & two crashes.

Cool! I'll try and find that. I play just a 4 piece most of the time. I could not leave that 18 behind though.

Love Andy Newmark. He originally was the drummer for Sly and the Family Stone - so the man is definitely funky.

Is the 9000 series what became the Tour custom? Very nice drums there. You got to add a regular 8x12 for the Andy Newmark kit though. He wanted super high, and his 16" floor tom super low, and the bass drum even lower.

The 9000 became the 'Recording Custom' line. Really superb drums there. $800 is a good deal on some genuinely great drums.

Really nice drums. I can't believe you got the hats for just $8 but deals like that are out there. Are these a natural, unstained finish? If so, you sould put them on the Show Your Wood thread.

I'm on the look out for that 12" tom. I can never find one with the small lugs.

It is the natural wood. I'll add it to that thread also thanks!

The hats also came with a vintage ludwig spur lok high hat stand. I kept asking them if they had more drums in the back. But no luck.
