Default Rack Building

Are there any good rack building tools out there?

Trying to plan out my next kit. Looking to get as good of a price range as I can. The drums and cymbals and obvious hardware is easy, but building a rack seems to just be pen and paper inventory and is not going well.

Trying to stick with Gibraltar because I have had zero problems with them. Pearl and tama have done me wrong in the past and DW seems like they are equal in most ways with Gibraltar.

There's no rush on this, getting the $6000 for the rest will take some time. Just curious and building drumsets virtually is fun.

I will tell you as( I am on an info mission to all drummers about Gibraltar) is this:

I recently purchased the Gibraltar Stealth rack system and found very few building options going vertically (as in height) when using Stealth. This otherwise very attractive system is great.

I'm endorsed by Gibraltar Hardware. Take a look at my links in my signature.

It is a pretty tedious process. Especially since I live on Maui where none of the local music stores carry Gibraltar exclusively, I had to make sure I got every part EXACTLY as to minimize shipping costs.

Even talking with the folks at Gibraltar, you're gonna have to research every little clamp and memory lock so you know what you're gonna need. Look at pictures on their website, make some drawings, imagine what the setup will look like and be very meticulous with what you're gonna purchase. It took me about 2 weeks of phone calls and emails to get the parts right.

However, once the rack comes in and you set it up, it's a very surreal feeling and you'll be glad that you took the time to do it.

There's no online rack building program and to be honest, I don't see how someone could create one. There are simply INFINITE ways to setup clamps and bars that you just can't replicate (in 3D especially) what you'll need. You're gonna have to speak with someone there.
