Default New X7

New to the forum, so i thought I'd post a pic of my new X7 in Black on Black Pearlescent. Unfortunately the room is kinda small and my Nikon D7000 has a mammoth lens on it so the pics I can take of it are rather limited.

Anxiously awaiting the other bass drum I ordered which is coming straight from Pacific this week, hence the brand new SpeedCobra's sitting around doing nothing. The Iron Cobras pictured I bought brand new 14 - 15 years ago. Also, I'm ordering the Gibraltar double bass rack very soon to go with it.

Ignore my horribly cracked China. It actually sounds rather good considering, but I'm definitely replacing it in the following weeks.

Very nice kit mate. Loooooooove the color. The "L" rods on the tom holder would have been nice in black.Gotta love the PDP's :). Is that a Tama rockstar racked beside your kit? Enjoy your kit!!

It is indeed a Tama Rockstar. Same one I've had since I was about 15 (34 now.) Black L rods would have been great but I understand why they didn't.

Because powdercoating anything that involves a clamp (especially where there are grooves in the metal, like an L-rod) greatly reduces the effectiveness of the clamp in keeping things in position, and it'd also probably wear off fairly quickly and look even uglier than just chrome... :/

Oh and great kit! Haha. Thought about getting the same config (with the extra kick) for a while before I bought my Ludwigs!

Great looking kit!

I have to ask though, why two single Speed Cobra pedals when you only have 1 BD?

Because my other bass drum was in route from Pacific when I first posted that thread. I have it now. :)

The stock heads on those PDP kits are utter crap though. I broke a tom and snare head mere days of each other, and I couldn't tell you when the last time I broke a drum head was. Anways, I put REMO Ebony Pinstripes on all of the tom batter heads, and REMO PowerStroke 3's on the bass drums. I also put an Aquarian Studio-X w/ Power Dot on the snare, but I'm not that fond it it so far but it beats a broken head. :D

Here are some shots of it that I took today, as well as some other gear I have.
