Default pedal problem beater stays upright

hi

i just started playing the drums, so i apologize for any dumb questions. For some reason all of a sudden my pedal won't go back to it's starting position, the beater stays upright after i step on the pedal and does not rebound back down. i tried to figure out what was wrong by messing around with the screws but can't seem to get it to work normally. i'd appreciate the help

find your tension spring, follow it up to the lobe that attachés to the shaft. on that lobe should be an Allen screw or square drum lug loosen it and move the pedal where you want it then re tighten the screw.

you might have to adjust your spring so that it flings the beater back more, which is not too hard to do

it seems that gear on top of the spring is getting caught, i think the screw might be too lose i'll have a to look for an allen wrench that fits
