Default Re-vamping my studio! Suggestions?

It's been about 8 years since I've cleaned up/out the studio, and put it back together (I used to do this every year). It's my chance to rearrange, clean up under everything, etc. I was just wondering if any of you other studio guys have any random insights or tips I can take into consideration as I do this over the next few days.

Thanks all!

Default Re: Re-vamping my studio! Suggestions?

Best thing I've done is invest in a label maker. I label everything with my name. I put a number on the ends of every cable. I wrap the label with some clear packing tape to makes sure it holds down and preserves it for a long time.

Compressed air can...blow everything out.

Shorten your cables...best thing I did that eliminated a lot (all) of the noise in my systems was replaced all the power cables with 1' or 2' cables. Short cables keeps everything tidy and eliminates audio cables crossing over the power cables = no noise.

Sweep, mop, dust, febreeze.
