Default Marching Snare Sticks

I just recently biught some Vic Firth Ralph Hardiman Marching Snare sticks. One question about them though?? Do you have to replace the tips of the sticks to wooden tips instead of the plastic ones (which come on the sticks)???

Sounds to me like you've bought nylon tips......unless these sticks are different from every other nylon tip available, then no, the tips alone can't be replaced and swapped with a wooden tip. Take 'em back and get the same model of stick with a wood tip if that's what you're after.

I don't think they do. Most people don't really break the tip unless you are purposely trying to break them. But, to give you an answer, I don't think they do.

[quote=JoeLackey;763233]. Most people don't really break the tip unless you are purposely trying to break them. [quote]

I'm a bit confused here Joe...can you elaborate? Tips don't break?

I don't use nylon tips as I find they break easier than wooden tips and I find that the reason most of my sticks are rendered useless, is due to the wooden tip splintering long before I break a stick in half. None of it is 'on purpose"....morse so, that sticks ain't made to last forever.
