Definitely a very good looking set with a very original set up! I like very much the extremely modern configuration combined with esthetic elements which remind me of the fifties and sixties (the color - wrap? - of the shells and the stripes, which even remind me of some sport cars of that era ...).

Beautiful set, really!

This is not a wrap but actual abalone shells from New Zealand, each piece is approx. 1.5" wide and 6" long. After each piece is glued down they apply a clear lacquer coat. The drums alone list for $11,500.00 and sold new for $8,500.00 I picked them up 2 months ago on ebay. The bass drum has a AKG D112 with the Mays mic system. The sub woofer has 2 res. heads and and drops the overall bottom end by 2 to 3 db's. One of the best looking and sounding kits I have ever played.

At first, I thought it was a wrap, then after your post, I re looked at the pictures.

The first picture really shows the non wrap construction.

WOW, I would have to build a drum room that was part sound proof, part vault to own those - they look priceless!!!

Beautiful. I really like the deep maroon striping against the abalone/pearl.

Are you already selling this kit, because it is back up on ebay?

That would be a helluva profit if you can pull it off. I was watching that kit when you bought it, but I went ahead and ordered a new C&C kit instead.

Do you think a woofer that has a larger diameter than the original bass drum would work? Do you use it a lot?

Holy smokes! That finish is bananas! I love that woofer on the bass drum too. It must sound huge.
