Default Bounce back

I just put a GMAD on a old Tama superstar 22inch bass drum and it sounds great. The only problem I have with it is when I try to do doubles it does not not have a good bounce back. I feel I have to work harder. It has a great attack. Has anybody every had a problem like this? Would a EMAD work better?

You're not going to notice a whole lot of difference, in terms of rebound, between the GMAD and the single-ply EMAD. This has a lot more to do with tuning of the head and your kick pedal. Try increasing the tension on your pedal incrementally to help you find the "sweet spot" for rebound.

What would be better in an UNmiced situation an EMAD 1,EMAD 2 or the GMAD on a birch kick 18x22?
