I don't know, UFF. I think if I was playing disco my first thought would be a felt beater on a 22" kick. The softer the beater, the sound will have less attack so the resonance is emphasised more. This means you miss out on the high tones. Good for me with my little 16" Rhythm Traveler kick.

Of course, if you are being mic'd and EQ'd, then your kick can achieve a huge range of sounds. Even my little kick with my fluffy beater can sound like a cannon when it's mic'd :)
