Default Best drum set mallet?

Looking for a nice soft mallet that I should have in my stick bag? What is your favorite?

For use on cymbal swells and tom sounds too. drum set playing!

Thanks.

Almost any medium-hardness timpani mallet will do. Too hard and your cymbal rolls will have too much definition; too soft and they'll sound like mush on drums.

Why not head down to the shop and try some out?

I personally like soft yarn marimba mallets for cymbal rolls.
