Default remo fiberskyn F1

Anyone familiar with these heads?

I have an opportunity to grab 12" 13" 16" for my toms at a very good price.
I always like to experiment but just wondering what other's think
of these as tom batter's.
thx

These heads were intended for use on orchestral concert toms, not drumset. It's my understanding that the F1s in tom sizes have been discontinued though they seem to be still in production for orchestral bass drums.

The F1 is a much thicker version of the Fiberskyn, so I presume that the F1 tom heads are substantially thicker than the Fiberskyn 3A, which themselves are thicker than coated Ambassadors.

I even find the Fiberskyn As to be a bit thick for my taste. You might like the F1s, but even if you do, bear in mind that you probably won't be finding any more when these wear out.
