Default Lug fixes?

Okay Ive got one of these shoddy generic 10" toms. All other lugs are pretty good however thiers one sneaky buggar that refuses to tighten. It will tighten but however after about a half turn it becomes stiff and not even a wrench can tighten it easily. I intend to open it up to identify the problem but before I mess things up would anyone suggests what the problem is and tell me of a way to fix it? I have lubricated it and that doesnt seem to be it.

The threads could be stripped... not an uncommon problem. Try replacing the tension screw itself... the other option is to find a new receiver that fits your lug casing.

Go ahead and open up the lug... there's not much in there to mess up!
