The Tama Cobra Clutch holds the hi-hat cymbals so when you go to double bass your hi-hats can stay closed or to whatever setting you want. You just swing your left heal a little to the left a push down and it engages. Same motion to disengage.

I never like my drop down clutch. I always had to smack the crap out of it and or concentrate too much to get be sure to get it before switch to the left bass drum pedal that it caused me anxiety. Plus you could also hear the stick hit and cymbal drop.

The idea for the X-hat Splash/Ride combo comes from Billy Ward. I saw it on his Big Time DVD. You can read about how to get the best sound out of this setup from the link in my signature. Microphones love this sizzle sound and it is a piece of cake to just reach over and move your ride up a 1/4 inch and the sizzle is gone.

I saw that on your kit jimtyler, and I was wondering if it was for looks or if you actually used it. It's a cool idea though.

(atleast I think it was you)

Looks cool but I bet it would be murder on your sticks!

One guy here had some blood on his set after he cut himself hitting a mounted sawblade. People were saying he should clean up the blood but he thought it looked cool. I have to admit it gave his set some attitude.

I am ordering a Wing Key right now and I'll give a report on it.
