Default Practice drumset choices ?

Im just, getting back into serious drumming... This is my first post and I have a few questions...

Is this the right forum subject area for this type of question...?

I have access to an acoustic kit for use in the day time... However, their are times I want to practice rudiments away from the kit... and at times, wanting to play at night... My research indicated 2 types of drumsets for a more " silent" practice... Electronic kits from Roland/Yamaha.. and traditional practice kits from companies like Remo and Gibraltar..

Are their any difference between these 2 types of kits for practicing and the studying of drum technique.... Their propose is for study..

Noise level will not be an issue for either one of these sets... meaning the sounds from playing on rubber will not be bothering the neighbors

My ideal setup would be a Remo practice kit to go along with the Gretch acoustic kit that I have... However, Those electronic kits look very nice..

I have read from other posts about hands getting " ripped up" from playing cheaper hard rubber electronic kits...

Can hand problems occur from playing on the rubber drum surfaces of a Remo practice drum kit ?

I know these are Nubie questions...

Thanks
