Default heads for a gretsch catalina maple?

ive just been playing kit an without warning the stock heads of the kit gave way and sound horrible :D
obviously there not the best quality but ive been putting off buying new heads for a while now :D

im playing a mixture of funk/rock/metal/jazz
so would really like something suitable for everything :D
:)

im not sure what i should be looking for as the only other heads ive ever bought were good ol' pinstripes :P
whether it be: coated or clear im up for all suggestions

i dont need a snare head and ill probably buy resonant heads aswell

my sizes are
10/12/14/16/22Kick

so let me know guys

Thanks!

I play the same kit. I'm a big fan of emperor batters and ambassador reso's for the toms. And PS3's for batter and reso on the kick.

Worth considering.

Chosing heads is such a personal preference thing that it's hard to really suggest what you should be using. I do agree that you need to dump the stock heads, they're crap. I have had the best success using Evans G1's over Evans G-plus. Nice clear warm sound. Good luck!
