Default the sessions kit is done ! pic intense .

well sort of . still have to order wooden bass drum hoops , but other than that ....
i did end up using leopardwood veneer and it was a great choice , though i did buy alittle too much ! remember that this was put together for a 12 y.o. girl , hence the wild color combo ! if it were for me i would have left it all the natural wood , but it did give me a chance to experiment with painting a fade ! the green was mixed by my brother and he tells me that it was a 1970 dodge color ( sublime green ) and he also darkend a second batch for the contrasting color on the fade .
we also got a custom made drum head from http://www.drumstatic.com/ . they were awesome considering how many times we ended up changing the design before jennifer was finally happy about it , and after seeing it on the kit she knew what she was doing .
thanks to them for their patience .
so on with the pics !
have to start with a before pic

Nice Job! I like the colors. I once owned a Plymouth Road Runner that was that color.
I really like the way that you did the bass drum!!!

yes you may grunt ! i got it from here

http://www.oakwoodveneer.com/index.html

i spent days on their site looking and deciding ! i lost track of how many times i changed my mind ........
the only problem you might have is that they only sell it in 4' x 8' sheets , so if you were needing it for the floor/bass drum they may not be able to help .
but if you want to do it in leopardwood let me know ! l.o.l.

Nice work! Must be really rewarding to see some hard work turn into a kit like that!
Did your daughter pick the colour herself?

Nice...: ))) she does have a u-tube channel that we have been using to track her progress here- http://www.youtube.com/user/07ssmonte we haven't posted anything lately due to that terrible sound we get from the camera , but i'll be getting a new camcorder this weekend and we will start posting again . she has come along ways even since the last posted video ,so she can't wait to start adding more videos.
(JIM)- since a picture is worth a 1000 words once i get this new camcorder i'll shoot a short demo and give you a p.m. when its here to view ! should be within the next week or two .

What a great looking kit! It looks like a lot of hard work went in to it! I would have never thought of that color combo, but it really works nicely. Great Job! Looking forward to some sound clips too!

i understand . i won't dumb it down when i make the vid , you'll understand what i'm doing in it . i had tried contact cement in the past and didn't like it so i switch to 3m 90 spray adhesive , much more easier to work with . its so easy to do even a ca........ , you get my point !

There never was any piece of craft that could be appreciated by onesself more than that which one has created himself.

And this is a fine example of that.

It looks... Psychadelic to say the least. And it looks awesome. Great job on the colors.

I hope your daughter thanked you to no end!
