Default Recording Customs (Custom)

Hi All,

I just picked up this Yamaha Recording Custom. It is used, but in absolutely mint condition.
This was custom made by Yamaha for Canadian drummer Al Webster, of Jeff Healy, Amanda Marshall fame. His name is stenciled on the Yamaha badges.
Not usually available in the Apple Fade Sparkle, it also has clear interiors, and aluminum die-cast hoops.
Sizes are 18x20, 8x12 and again an unusual 13x15 floor tom.
I have it shown with my Wells Custom steam bent 6 1/2 x 14 maple snare.
Just a gorgeous kit!
Cheers
Phil

Never been a great Recording Custom fan, but I must admit that you found a very special set! Very nice, really.

Can you tell us something more about the snare? Never heard that brand before.

Awesome kit. I've always loved that finish on Yamaha drums. You shouldn't have an ounce of buyers remorse from that one.

Yeah, a terrific snare it is. I got it included with the Yammies, and it's made by Wells Custom Drums out of Brantford Ontario. (www.wellscustomdrums.com)
It's a steam bent solid maple snare, with a veneer of birdseye maple. It has this retro looking Ludwig strainer on it, with Puresound snare wires too. I haven't had a chance to play it yet, but it seems very sensitive. It's a beautiful piece of work.
Thanks!
Phil

Cool kit! I've wondered where all the artist custom kits end up..
So basically you can say that it is a BCA kit with recording custom lugs?
