Default Roland td6v or Tama swingstar???

I've got a set of Roland td6v electric drums and am wondering if trading them for a new set of Tama swingstars with sabian cymbals would be worth it??? I paid about 1,600 plus headphones for the td6v, not sure what the tama swingstars are worth new, any input would be greatly apreciated. Thanks

Here is a link to the roland kit

Not an obvious question. Why did you get the Roland in the first place?

Was it because you wanted to play at any time of the day or because you didn't want to upset the neighbours etc.

So how come you now can go for an acoustic set?

We need more data to process your question.

Peace

You'd probably be better off buying used, and wait a bit. I have a Roland TD-6 - I think it's the older version of yours, and I wouldn't want to do without it for practice. It's a little investment but if you kept the E drums down the road you could get some some software like Superior Drummer 2 and an audio interface to run into your computer to get better sound.

Back to the Swingstars - I had a set back in the late eighties, they're decent drums but it sounds like you're losing money with a trade like that. As a matter of fact, I'm looking to buy a used set and am checking out a 5 pc Swingstar set with hardware and cymbals this afternoon. The price is only $400. The cymbals are ZBTs and if I buy I'll have to upgrade later, but this is an example of a pretty good deal if you save just a bit.
