Default Grab the Eliminator?

I'm (very) slowly building myself a kit. My roommate has a good kit and is kind enough to let me practice on it, but I'd like to eventually put my own together. Been combing through used stuff and I came across a Pearl Eliminator hi-hat stand (H-2000). I haven't tried many hat stands, and don't really know what I want, but this one's flawless and the owner's asking $125, which looks like a steal. Would I be a fool to pass this one up? I know I want a stand that works well next to a double bass pedal, but that's really all I know.

Thanks for any help :)

Default Re: Grab the Eliminator?

Just recently bought the same stand myself.
Very smooth and responsive action, huge amount of adjustability in the footplate.
Variable cams available to change the feel of the action. Havent used those myself, happy with the feel of the action without changing anything.
Stand very stable, nice that its a bipod, rather than tripod stand, allows for a bit more adjustment in terms of positioning.
All in all, I can say a nice stand, certainly better than the PDP stand I was using.

Good luck.
