Default Adding electronics

I have an acoustic and electronic kit and thought of adding some e-pads to the a-set. Might be handy when covering disco, dance or techno tunes.

How do you handle electronics?

Where do you set-up the pads?

Where can I download effects into the roland drum module?

I use the Roland SPD-S sampler, left of the hi-hat, when I'm playing acoustic kit "with electronics". Much more versatile than a standard e-kit, because it is a sampler. And much more compact, because it's 9 pads and module mounted within the space of a laptop.

I use an SPD-S to the left of the hi hat too. Great bit of kit.
I have increasingly been using, instead of the SPD-S, two e-pads set up on the kit, connected to an Alesis DM5 module. One pad to the left of the hats, and the other mounted on the kick drum, between my high tom and ride (i play 4-piece 1-up/1-down kit).
I like having the pad next to the ride, it's handy for programming percussion sounds that i can play right-handed rather than just being restricted to playing left handed on the pad to the left. For example, i use cowbell and agogo sounds in some songs, and play these instead of the ride cymbal.
It's been interesting incorporating electronics to the kit, and gives my live playing another dynamic that works well.

My next move will be adding a Roland KD7 kick pad to the right of my kick drum, in order to get some interesting kick sounds that i will be able to play in the same song as the acoustic kit.
