Default My new 1970's Slingerland Kit, w/ custom bass spurs

Here's a little back story on me.

I started drumming on my 16th birthday. I received a beginner CB drum kit from my dad, and literally played that until 3 days ago when I finally made my first ever drum shell (minus a snare) purchase. I am reallllllly excited about this kit, because it cleared out all of random crap I had in my room (sold my old stuff to a 16 year old) and now I'm back to basics with some legit gear.

The Slingerland is all original parts minus the wrap (so I'm told) and the legs to the floor tom, and kick. I made the Kick legs this morning, and I'm pretty proud of them. haha

Drums-
18" Kick
13" Rack tom
12" Rack tom
16" Floor tom
14" Snare (Tama Rockstar)

Cymbals-
14" A Custom Hats
18" XS20 Crash
20" XS20 Ride
8" B8 Splash (I found this yesterday under my couch, my first drum purchase ever! hah)

Pedals and Whatnot-
Pearl Powershifter Eliminator Double Pedals
Pearl Hi Hat stand (found next to a dumpster in perfect condition)
Some PDP throne.

PICTURES-

Loving this kit so far. I play the rack toms switched because I like the way the 13" rolls to the floor tom better.

If you have any info on the origins of my kit, please share!

Those "homegrown" spurs look just as functional as the original factory items. Good work.

beautiful drum set, very legitimate indeed!

You should post it up on The Vintage Thread!

All the best.

The "vintage" spurs I was looking at buying were $36 plus shipping, and I knew I could do better than that. So 30 minutes at Lowes, plus about 10 minutes at home, and $8.76 later, I have my spurs. haha Much less!

i like how you have the "bernard purdie" tom set-up ! i set up one of my old kits like that and liked the feel of it.

Yeah, I've only had about 2 hours playing time with this set up, but I loved it.

My fills sound much better, and the 12" inspires random grooves.
